The Techie Congress is an attempt to bring together progressive technologists in countries throughout the world to develop an understanding and articulation of our rights as activists and workers; our obligations and responsibilities to the movement for world survival and fundamental progressive change; and a program for doing both.

Techie Congresses are taking place through the year 2010 and probably into 2011. The US Techie Congress is taking place in Detroit at the United States Social Forum on June 22-26, 2010.

In each Congress, participants use the Collaborative Democracy software to arrive at a program of ten points that expresses their collaborative thinking on the above issues. The outcomes of that exchange are posted on this website. At the end of the one year process, it's expected that groups from all countries will meet to consolidate their documents into one International "program".
